What is Flaik GPS Technology?

Flaik is a GPS-based alpine guest tracking system that your child will receive when taking a lift-served kids’ group ski or snowboard lesson.

Crystal Mountain’s Snowsports School uses Flaik technology to track their students’ progress in kids’ group lessons and ensure increased security and peace of mind for both parents and instructors. Parents and children can review and re-live the day at the end of the lesson.

What should I wear on the slopes?

A number of thinner, light layers as opposed to two thick layers will allow you to adjust what you're wearing appropriately. Wool, thermal layers, and fleece are highly recommended.

  • Wear a base layer of leggings/long underwear, tight fitted long-sleeve shirt, and one pair of high socks. Too many pairs of socks can lead to wrinkles and cause discomfort in your boots.
  • Wear a middle layer of fleece, wool, or synthetic material for warmth (sweater, sweatshirt, or down jacket.)
  • Wear waterproof or resistant pants and jacket. Jeans and cotton like sweatpants & sweatshirts get wet quickly.
  • Eye protection: Goggles or sunglasses will protect your eyes from wind and snow.
  • Gloves or Mittens: Waterproof or resistant gloves or mittens work best. Extra cold day? Mittens will keep your hands warmer.
  • Headwear: Helmets are highly recommended for all skiers and snowboarders and included with Crystal Mountain’s equipment rental packages. Helmets are required in all lessons.
  • Wearing a face mask, neck gaiter, or scarf to protect your face from the cold is also recommended.
