The Pumping Service Pump Track Returns
February 4, 2022
THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. (Feb. 4, 2022) – After its debut last year as the first ski and snowboard pump track in Michigan, The Pumping Service Pump Track has returned to Crystal Mountain. The partnership between the ski resort and The Pumping Service LLC might seem like a unique duo, but the two local, family-owned businesses have been working together for more than 20 years.
“Any time we can support another northern Michigan business, we’re on board,” John Melcher, CEO of Crystal Mountain, said. “The Pumping Service Pump Track was a hit with skiers and snowboarders last year, so we couldn’t wait to have our terrain park crew build it up again this season.”
A pump track is a continuous circuit of snow rollers designed to be ridden by “pumping” your body up and down to generate momentum downhill. At Crystal Mountain, The Pumping Service Pump Track is on Megan’s Way which is classified as a beginner run on North Face.
“One of the reasons we agreed to the sponsorship last year was to generate recognition around our new company name, and it worked!” Nate Geetings, co-owner of The Pumping Service, said. “Our new branding has been in front of thousands of skiers and riders on the hill. We have had several local residents tell us they’ve seen our signs.”
The Pumping Service, formerly known as Benzie, Crystal and Interlochen Pumping Service, offers professional septic tank, holding tank and grease trap pumping services to residents and businesses in Manistee, Benzie, Leelanau, Wexford and Grand Traverse Counties.
