Summer Art Workshops at Michigan Legacy Art Park

Join us for engaging art workshops every Sunday from 2pm - 4pm at the Michigan Legacy Art Park (near the entrance). Rain or shine, we'll be creating art! In case of rain, the workshops will be held in the garage near the Art Park's entrance.

Workshops
July 14: Spinning & Weaving Workshop with the Northland Weavers
Join the Northland Weavers and Fiber Arts Guild for an introduction to weaving and spinning.
There will be a hands-on weaving project and demonstrations in weaving and spinning. Guests will have an opportunity to try weaving on a 4 harness loom and try their hands at spinning on drop spindles and spinning wheels.
July 21: Altered Books Workshop with Pam Yee
Take an old book, and create a work of art! Altered book artist Pam Yee is a past president of the ISABA (International Society of Altered Book Artists). This event is free with general admission to the Art Park, but space might be limited. Please
purchase your admission in advance to secure your spot for this activity.
July 28: Nature Photography Using Manual Settings with Vance Marshall
Retired pro photographer Vance Marshall will present an approximately two hour course on using either a digital or a film based 35mm SLR camera set to the manual exposure setting for taking more creative outdoor photos.
The course will include opportunities to walk the trails at the Michigan Legacy Art Park to photograph the flora and art present there. Golf-cart transportation is available for those with mobility issues. This class will be moved indoors if there is inclement weather. Attendees will be notified.
August 4: Sound Meditation Walk and Workshop
This workshop combines the healing power of sound and meditation with the tranquility of nature. Led by Kelsey Taylor, a reiki practitioner and herbal healer, and Lauren Erickson, a massage therapist. This experience will help you reconnect with the natural world and yourself.
